Bio An old, dusty tape deck stereo, complete with its vinyl playing hat, sits in the corner of the room. Blowing smoke from tape deck B it rants about the good old days of music. It once protested: there are no new ideas worth entertaining!... Its lofty claims were supported initially by the fearful few and he eventually seized control of the people convinving them that they were now in a democracy when in fact his autocratic rule controlled every decision that ever took place... the ol' bastard was known to the kids as 'the retroplayer'. After being bullied and subdued for many ages, the new generation had seen too many new emerging ideas suppressed by 'the retroplayer'. With a relentless belief that creative potential was unlimited they sought to create a device to challenge 'the retroplayer' and its narrow-minded bullshit...RETRAPLAYER was created...It was an open-minded device that not only played music from the future, but also mp3 and wav files. It knew that creativity is endless and that there is an unlimited supply of innovation. It knew that progress could only be achieved with an alternative system. Of course, it could never conclusively disprove 'the retroplayer' because of the nature of its claims. RETRAPLAYER could only continue its endless quest until maybe one day 'the retroplayer' was convinced and put a halt to its pretentious, limited, tape-reeling spew. But the battle got ferocious and the well established fatcat retroplayer, complete with its lucky crack pipe, evil marketing genius and its financial overbearing grip, corrupted the minds of the people and ordered the destruction of RETRAPLAYER.The majority succumbed to its brainwashing tactics and the new generation were pushed back into obscurity. RETRAPLAYER vanished from the public eye and the legend was thought lost...but in the past decade small factions throughout the world began to experience an awakening; thinking freely and educating themselves in a hope to one day break free from the shackles of the retroplayer's poisonous and all-consuming bad breath! They had to operate the uprising in secret and communicated only within the boundaries of 11:11. It is through these means that people learned once again of RETRAPLAYER and its ideologies.The uprising continues to grow, the movement is getting stronger and 'the retroplayer' is growing older, slower, fatter and is reported to have a rusty needle. But it still maintains power by injecting apathy into the brainwashed, through its cunning use of commercial warfare and static shock!We are the people, we have the power and we should no longer be oppressed! Let us reclaim our freedom and may RETRAPLAYER rise again!One small faction decided to create a band in the honour of RETRAPLAYER and its future return.......
